CERES The Goddess energy of Ceres, represented winter, (death and birth), as a young woman, her daughter was stolen. Ceres grief and pain was so terrible, that she struck the earth to be barron with her anger. Hence the winter months, where all things die. Ceres was also known as the earth mother and her Roman name was Demeter, the greek goddess....... As Ceres or Demeter, she did eventually find her daughter, she negotiated with the underworld, for her return and was allowed to leave the underworld where she spent six months of happiness, and allowed the world to be fruitful, representing, Summer and Autumn. Earth Mother Ceres represents, all womens cycles, allowing us to center and blow with the wind. She is wonderful to meditate upon for great changes, (if and when you feel the need for them). Ceres in my opinion is a wonderful goddess, who upholds women in a time of need. The best time to work with Ceres or (Demeter) is during the full and new moon. Working in sinc with our biological cycles. A good essence oil to use when working with this wonderful Goddess is: Sandlewood or Lavender. Gemstones: Bloodstone, Smoky Quartz or Ruby. ALWAYS WORK WITHIN THE WHITE LIGHT WITH CERES WHEN MAKING YOUR ALTAR TO REPRESENT CERES, USE THINGS OF THE EARTH. Dried Lavender, Berries, Nuts and fruits, are just a few suggestions. Candles should be pastel colors, moss greens,pinks,lavender or white are some great colors all working with the Earth Mother.
